Tell Me
07:50
I look at the birds
I can hear them sing
Everyday like there's no tomorrow
Tell me
Are they not free?
I can often see a hint
Of a golden sunrise, or
Of an orange, purple, pink
Sunset
Happening behind some gray clouds,
Tell me
Are they not glorious and charming?
The sun
When it carefully peeks
From the horizon
Coloring the sky, clouds, earth and grass,
Looking like an amber gem
But never diguised
As something he's not,
Tell me
Is it not loving, gracious and brilliant?
I look around and
I see trees
Growing
Dancing to the wind,
With powerful roots
That will only be taken
When everything else has fallen apart,
Except it won't,
Because
Tell me
Are they not fresh, joyful, friendly and essencial?
And when it does rain
May we never complain,
For when the drops drop
Running a portion of their
Endless
Walk in Life,
Tell me
Are they not abundant, graceful, merciful, tireless and giving?
And the grass
Bright in its favor,
Home to all sorts of
Forms of life,
Food to others,
Bed to many more, and
Fun to us all,
Tell me
Is it not simple, kind, calm, necessary, selfless and delicate?
Will the sea ever stop
Speaking its heart out,
Or going its way,
Just because of all the storms and people
Unsettling and haunting it? So
Tell me
Is it not powerful, corageous, great, indefatigable, resolute, awesome and overwhelming?
And now, we, humans, not only existing, but
Having so much around us
To learn from,
Still fail to realize that we,
We ourselves, are so much more
Than anything I've mentioned before.
And yet we do not comprehend that
If the rest of Creation
Is, naturally and persistently,
Everything I have said,
Tell me
Why are we not?
