Do bolor, e do musgo, e das rachas nas paredes
Das casas destas ruas...
Alguém que lá viva
Ou que as tenha construído
Certamente estará farto de limpar...
Mas eu acho-lhe graça, à Natureza,
Que vai e, sem escrúpulos,
Pinta a casa num frenesim de cores

Como quem diz
"Isto, nesta paisagem?
Anda, que eu ajudo-te...
Agora sim, está mais ao meu gosto."
E, depois da última teia de aranha
Convenientemente tecida
Onde o Homem não consegue limpar,
Exclama
"Ah! Perfeito."
Ah, perfeito!...

Good night from a windy island!
The oceans are preparing
For their restless rest.
The winds are quieting
And whispering slower
For a good night's sleep
In everyone's homes.
The birds sing their last songs
The cats go back to their safe havens
The dogs lay down in a cuddly curl
The daylight says goodbye
And our eyelids are getting heavier...
Sleepy feelings are coming our way
And we welcome them! We know
Tomorrow's a new day.
